Hvar Ferry Port

Situated in the very center of Hvar Town on the Island of Hvar, the Hvar ferry port is among the busiest small ferry ports in Croatia. Numerous local passenger catamarans/ferries arrive and depart from this spot, taking you to nearby islands (Brac, Korcula, Mljet, Lastovo, and Vis) as well as to/from Split and Dubrovnik. There are no car ferries that arrive at this ferry port. The nearest car ferry port is Stari Grad on Hvar island.

At present, there are no direct international ferry crossings from Hvar ferry port. The nearest alternative international ferry ports are Split, Zadar and Dubrovnik. From there, you can cross to Italy and get some other ferries to travel further to Greece and Albania.

Getting To Hvar Ferry port

The most convenient way to reach the port is by local bus or taxi. Bear in mind that Hvar Town is a traffic-free zone, so some walking will be included. If you are driving, and need to leave a car here, see the info about parking further down the article.

How to get from Stari Grad to the Hvar ferry port

There is a regular local bus service that connects Stari Grad and its car ferry port with the Hvar catamaran port as well as buses to & from Jelsa and Vrboska (including Milna, Zarace & Dubovica). Hvar Town to the Stari Grad ferry will take about 40 minutes. There is always a bus waiting at the car ferry.

The main Hvar bus station is at Dolac, 21450, Hvar (location map) which is about 7 min walk from the port (see directions). Check cazmatrans.hr and detailed schedules and booking.

How to get from Split airport to the Hvar ferry port

To get here from Split airport (the nearest airport) get on the airport shuttle bus to the Split ferry port and board the fast ferry/catamaran to Hvar (served by several ferry companies including Jadrolinija, TP Line, and Kapetan Luka (Krilo). The total price for this journey is about 27 euros (7 euros for the airport shuttle + 20 euros for the ferry crossing). The alternative is to take a direct fast catamaran (not very frequent) or speed boat transfer from the airport. Speed boat transfers are popular and easy to get and it is probably the fastest and easiest way.

Ticket office

A ticket kiosk/a small ticket office is located in the port itself next to the post office and ATM-s. You can’t miss it, it’s there on the waterfront. All ferry crossings for which tickets are on sale are clearly displayed. If you are buying last-minute tickets for any crossings, try to be here as soon as you can. Luggage Storage

The left luggage office that offers luggage storage facilities in the port is situated right here – in the very center of the ferry port. Left luggage facilities offered here are from 1 hour to 24 hrs and more. There are also some other luggage storage places at local travel agents that look after your luggage for a few hours or more, while you are waiting for connecting transport options. Prices range from 3 Euro for 2 hours of storage to 7 Euro for 24 hrs storage per medium-sized bag or suitcase.

Parking in Hvar ferry port

If you are picking up or dropping off at the ferry terminal then there are parking bays directly outside the terminal for this purpose. If you are not taking your car on the ferry, then there are long-stay car parks in several places in the town. The closest you can get by car/taxi is about 450 meters from the catamaran /ferry terminal. The only larger parking place is located near the main bus station in Dolac, 21450, Hvar (map). WIFI Connection

Free Wi-Fi is available in local cafes, bars, and restaurants as well as at the main bus terminal and on some of the ferries. You can use the Wi-Fi service to go online for free anywhere in the vicinity. The WIFI network covers a large surrounding area around the port and waterfront. Free WIFI is provided by the local tourist office and library (Gradska Knjiznica) too.
