How to get from Stari Grad ferry port to the Hvar
There is a regular local bus service that connects Stari Grad and its car ferry port with the Hvar town as well to Jelsa and Vrboska (stopping at Milna, Zarace & Dubovica). From the Stari Grad ferry terminal to the Hvar catamaran port will take about 20 minutes by bus. The bus is waiting for each car ferry arriving from Split. It will take you to the Hvar bus station (Dolac, 21450, Hvar) (map), about a 7 min walk from the ferry port (walking directions) and pretty close to the town center. You will buy your ticket on the bus. Bus schedules and details are here.
How to get from Split airport to the Stari Grad ferry port
There are no direct transport connections between these two places. To get here from Split airport (the nearest airport), you get to Split town center where its ferry port is located, and from there get on a car ferry to here. The total travel time is about 3 hours.
Ticket office
A small Jadrolinija ticket office is located in the port itself, in the main terminal building. You can’t miss it, it’s there in a prominent location (map). They sell passenger and vehicle tickets (online booking). Bear in mind, if you are buying last-minute tickets for car crossings try to come early, as car places get sold pretty quickly, especially in the summer. If you are a foot passenger, there are always places available on the ferry so getting a last-minute ticket should not be a problem. Check what to wear on the ferry.
Luggage Storage
There is no left luggage office that offers luggage storage facilities in the port itself, you would need to use the town center storage (check with the local tourist office). However, you can always ask local port cafes to leave your luggage, it should be fine.
Parking in Stari Grad ferry port
If you are picking up or dropping off at the ferry terminal then there are parking bays directly outside the terminal for this purpose. If you are not taking your car on the ferry, this is also a long-stay car park. The closest you can get by car/taxi is about 20 meters from the ferry dock (see the above image).
WIFI Connection
Free Wi-Fi is available in local cafes, bars, and restaurants as well as inside the terminal and on some of the ferries. You can use the Wi-Fi service to go online for free anywhere in the vicinity. The WIFI network covers a large surrounding area around the port. Free WIFI is provided by the town’s tourist office.
