Getting To Saranda (Sarandë) Ferry port

The ferry port is situated in the very centre of the city. The easiest way to reach the port is to take a local taxi if you have luggage or just to walk if you are staying near the port. There are no alternative ways. If you are driving, see parking info below. There is no public transport service in the town, however, taxi is easy to get and widely available.

Getting here by bus

If you arrive in Albania in Tirana and need to go to Saranda, the easiest way is to get a bus. The bus ride takes about 5 hours and there are several regular daily departures both ways. The alternative is to hire a car. There are no flights nor trains connecting these two cities. The local bus station in the town is situated in the centre of the city, on the easy walking distance from the port. Parking in Saranda (Sarandë) ferry port

If you are picking up or dropping off at the ferry terminal then there are parking bays right outside the passenger terminal for this purpose. There are no long stay car parks in the near vicinity of the terminal. Hotels offer free parking while free street parking is available in the town. Although it may get busy in the summertime when there are not enough parking places available. Several privately-owned parking lots are also available, just ask when you arrive (see map).

Luggage Storage in Saranda (Sarandë) Ferry Port

The dedicated left-luggage office that offers luggage storage facilities is, at the time of writing this article, not available. However, if you check with small local tourist info agencies around the city, they are usually happy to look after your luggage for a small fee. Alternatively, if you are staying in the town, your hotel will offer the service if you ask.

Numerous hotels and private rooms and b&b’s are dotted near the ferry terminal. The best option is to stay in one of the hotels along the seafront promenade that features a beach (see photo below) and several bars and restaurants.
