How to get from Araxos Airport to Patras ferry port

The nearest airport to Patras is Araxos ( araxos-airport.gr ). It is about 35 km away from the Patras ferry terminal. It will take you about 20 minutes to reach the ferry port by either a bus, shuttle service, or a local taxi (about 50 Euro one way for a taxi up to 4 persons). There is no train connection. The regular bus service is leaving and arriving at Patras main bus station (see below map).

Getting from the bus station to ferry terminal

The bus station (KTEL) is situated in the city center. From there to the ferry terminal, which is about 3.8 km away will take you about 40 minutes to walk, which can be a good idea if you have light luggage.

You can also pick up a taxi to take you there. The taxi ride is about 10 minutes long, about 5.5 km, due to the one-way traffic system around the new port. Get further information about bus timetables and available routes on the local bus website ktelachaias.gr

Withing the passenger terminal there is a free shuttle bus service to and from the ferry to the entrance/ exit of the terminal.

Getting from the train station to the ferry terminal

If you arrive or depart from Patras by train and have luggage, the best option is to take a local taxi.

If you are arriving at the ferry terminal and heading to the bus or train station, there is also a local bus departing just outside the ferry terminal to the bus (KTEL) and main train station. You will be there in 10 minutes. The frequency of this bus line is once an hour.

Luggage Storage in Patras Ferry Port

There are luggage storage/lockers within the ferry terminal itself in the passenger departure terminal. The alternative is to leave your luggage with local cafe/ travel agents that also offer the service.
